For the first time in more than a decade, the world’s most popular computer brands will be available to U.S. consumers under one roof.
Beginning next month, Best Buy, North America’s leading computer retailer, will begin selling a wide variety of Dell computers, including its XPS line of premium multimedia notebooks and desktops. The addition of the Dell brand offers Best Buy customers a complete choice of desktops and notebooks, including the five most popular computer brands in the U.S. This will be the first time since at least 1995 that customers can have this level of choice of computer brands from one retailer.
“American consumers want to choose from among their favorite brands – all of their favorite brands – when buying a computer,” said Dave Morrish, senior vice president, Best Buy. “The addition of Dell to our retail and online selection gives Best Buy customers unprecedented choice when buying a computer. This wide assortment, combined with our knowledgeable Blue Shirt staff and the expertise of our Geek Squad agents throughout our more than 900 U.S. stores, positions Best Buy as a premier destination for customers looking to build a complete computing solution in their homes.”
As evidence of consumer demand for computing choice, “Dell” has been one of the most-searched terms on BestBuy.com, despite not being sold on the site.
