Kyocera Mita America introduced three new monochrome multifunction products (MFPs), the KM-5050, KM-4050 and KM-3050. The KM-5050, KM-4050 and KM-3050 combine standard network printing, advanced color scanning/sending and productive copying with long-life consumables to deliver exceptional performance and value.
Developed using Kyocera's unique drum technology, these MFPs allow users to reduce the amount of required preventative maintenance calls, which are exponentially more frequent on many competing models. Users can expect more uptime from their MFP, superior reliability and uninterrupted office efficiency. The KM-3050 is a 30 page per minute (ppm) device that features a maximum monthly volume of 100,000 pages and a drum life up to 400,000 impressions. The KM-4050 is a 40-ppm unit with a maximum monthly volume of 150,000 pages and a drum that lasts up to 500,000 impressions. Lastly, the KM-5050 provides users with a maximum monthly volume of 200,000 pages and a drum that yields 500,000 impressions.

The KM-5050, KM-4050, KM-3050 models offer a host of new features designed to enhance data, document and network security. These include network and local authentication; HDD overwriting and encryption; PDF encryption and compression; IP filtering and secure watermark. The network authentication option requires users to log in with a username and password each time a document is sent across the network. Local authentication, ideal for smaller workgroups or companies, requires users to enter a specific pin number that has been registered at the MFP.

The new models also feature a USB Host Interface, which is designed to enhance performance, ease of use and security. It allows users to install a flash drive at the control panel and print their PDF documents directly from the touch screen interface.
An optional Data Security Kit (C) offers the ability to overwrite and encrypt data at the device level. This feature is particularly important for companies that must adhere to compliance regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley or HIPAA. IP filtering enables IT administrators to designate which IP segments are authorized to use the device, preventing unauthorized usage and ensuring network security. The secure watermark, which is available for the KX Driver, places a subtle watermark image in the background of a printed document.
In addition, all three MFPs are fully compatible with iTag, Kyocera's user-friendly document management solution. iTag, based on core technology from KYOcapture, allows users to capture, index, store, retrieve and share electronic documents at the touch of a button, eliminating the time-consuming and costly processes associated with filing, organizing and sharing a large number of documents. iTag integrates with select Kyocera multifunctional products (MFPs) and helps businesses effectively manage their workflow, leading to a more organized and streamlined work environment. The iTag solution ships with the iTag Validation Station, a powerful Dell server preloaded with the iTag software, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services and one MFP device connection for out-of-the-box functionality.
